This is my GUADEC 2007 report. I just put some summaries in the areas I interested in:

Input Methods
I presented my lightning talk about the Hildon Input Method (slides available here). I explained the architecture of Hildon Input Method and threw some ideas to extend it. Then I saw the lowfat demo and I think Hildon Input Method could be used there. And also Ross Burton of OpenedHand showed his interests in his mail. I also had a tiny discussion with Alp Toker of Collabora to get the input method working in Webkit in Maemo.

We lost a lot number of audience since we're moved to the second session of the lightning talks which happened to be at the same time as other interesting talks in other rooms, so I thing it's better to put the slides here.

Insya Allah Sabtu besok saya berangkat ke Birmingham untuk menghadiri GUADEC 2007 selama seminggu penuh. Saya butuh informasi tentang hal-hal di bawah ini. Beberapa sudah saya dapatkan dari Internet tapi butuh informasi yang lebih afdol yang sesuai dengan latar belakang saya (Sunni yang tidak pakai macam-macam dan seorang melayu yang tidak doyan makanan Eropa, senang naik transportasi umum (tapi bukan taksi)) dan diutamakan disertakan tips-tipsnya :-) Tempat menginap saya letaknya di sebuah tempat di Paradise Circus, jadi ada baiknya yang dekat-dekat situ.

Malah kalo bisa yang bisa jalan kaki.

Today I decided to upgrade my Ubuntu Hoary to Ubuntu Breezy Beta which features the brand new GNOME 2.12. The upgrade was started by editing the /etc/apt/sources.list file and issuing apt-get dist-upgrade. Packages was downloaded smoothly, only about 20 minutes for approx. 720 megabytes. The problem started to appear when the package upgrade was being processed. The locale generator failed complaining about missin srYU locale definition file. I manually edited /etc/locale.gen and remove all except for idID loacale to make the regeneration faster. Then continued the process by giving apt-get -f install command to fix the error.

Akhirnya lepas juga sesuai jatwal.
